Webhook delivery
Every post arrives.
Post Road delivers your webhooks the way the Tōkaidō carried Edo's mail: handed from station to station, in any weather, until it reaches the door.
Retries
We carry it through the storm.
When your customer's server goes down, the post waits at the next station and tries again: in seconds, then minutes, then hours. Fifty-three tries over three days, one for each station on the road.
Durable queue
Nothing is lost overnight.
Every event is written down at the first station before we answer your request. An outage on either side pauses the road. It never drops a letter.
Receipts
We put it in their hand.
Signed, in order, once per endpoint. Every hand-off is logged with the response it got, so you can show a customer the minute their event arrived.
How a post travels
Fifty-three stations from Edo to Kyoto. One request from your app to theirs.
-
01 Nihonbashi
Your app posts the event
We write it down, then answer. From that moment the post is ours to carry, even if your process exits.
-
02 to 52 The road
We keep trying
A refused or silent endpoint gets the post again later, with backoff and jitter, for up to three days.
-
53 Kyoto
They sign for it
A 2xx answer closes the trip and files a receipt you can search, replay or hand to their support team.
Questions from the road
What happens after the fifty-third try?
The post stops at the last station and waits. You get an alert, and one click sends it again once their endpoint is back.
Do posts arrive in order?
Yes, per endpoint. A post that is still retrying holds the ones behind it, unless you mark an endpoint as unordered.
Can I replay an event?
Any post from the last thirty days, to one endpoint or all of them, from the dashboard or with a single API call.
What does it cost?
Your first hundred thousand posts each month are free. After that, nine dollars per million, retries included.
