Index

Twelve posters by nine artists, made between 1889 and 1907. Each is printed again at its original size.

How a second impression is made

  1. The scan

Every print starts from the museum's open-access scan of the original: the full file, never a copy from the web.

  2. The plates

We make one plate for each ink the poster was first printed with, and match every ink by eye against the scan.

  3. The paper

Uncoated stock tinted to the original's tan or cream, cut to the original's size: 47 cm tall for Lippincott's, 189 cm for La Goulue.
